Toy Story 5 Joins Billion-Dollar Club, Dominates 2026 Box Office

Toy Story 5 has officially joined the exclusive billion-dollar club at the worldwide box office.

The latest chapter in the beloved Pixar franchise crossed the $1 billion threshold this weekend, bringing in an extra $34.7 million from markets around the globe. The film now sits at over $1.02 billion in total earnings, making it the highest-grossing movie of 2026 and Disney's first film to hit the billion-dollar mark during the year.

Only two other films have achieved billion-dollar status globally in 2026: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which earned $1.011 billion, and Michael, which brought in $1.010 billion.

Within the Pixar catalog, Toy Story 5 ranks as the sixth highest-grossing film of all time. It trails Inside Out 2 ($1.69 billion), Incredibles 2 ($1.24 billion), Toy Story 4 ($1.07 billion), Toy Story 3 ($1.06 billion), and Finding Dory ($1.029 billion). On the broader list of all-time animated releases worldwide, the film now sits at number 14.

The film reunites familiar voices including Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, and Joan Cusack as Jessie.
