Christopher Nolan's star-studded epic continues its commanding performance at the box office, cementing its status as one of the year's biggest releases.

In its second weekend, The Odyssey pulled in $87 million domestically while experiencing a 30% drop from its opening frame—a remarkably modest decline that places it among the most resilient wide releases ever. Only Wicked and Top Gun: Maverick achieved lower second-weekend drops among films that opened to $100 million or more.

Internationally, the film added another $128 million, bringing its worldwide total to $639 million. At its current trajectory, the film is poised to surpass the $1 billion mark globally.

The question now looms: can it surpass Deadpool & Wolverine as the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time? That film currently holds the record with over $1.3 billion in global box office revenue.

For moviegoers seeking the premium experience, IMAX has secured The Odyssey across their entire theater network through August 13. Once that date arrives, the IMAX circuit will transition to The End of Oak Street, another title shot for the large-format screens. However, The End of Oak Street will not occupy every IMAX location upon its release.

The extended IMAX run ensures audiences will have ample opportunity to experience the film in 70mm format before it makes way for the next major release.
