Sullivan's Crossing Showrunner Roma Roth Steps Down Before Season 5

The CTV and CW drama Sullivan's Crossing is undergoing a significant leadership change. Creator and showrunner Roma Roth has announced her departure from day-to-day operations on the series, stepping back from her role as head writer and showrunner ahead of the fifth season.

Roth, who launched the show in 2023 and has guided it through four seasons, will transition to an executive producer position. She will continue balancing her production duties on Netflix's Virgin River, where she also holds an executive producer credit.

Floyd Kane has been tapped to assume the showrunner position for the upcoming season.

The Canadian network CTV has already greenlit season five, though The CW's renewal status remains pending. Industry reports suggest the US network's renewal is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks.

Production on season five is scheduled to commence later this summer, following the season four premiere on The CW in April. The departure marks the second major cast or crew shift for the series in recent years—star Scott Patterson exited the show during the previous season citing creative differences.

Morgan Kahan and Chad Michael Murray are set to return in their respective roles as Maggie Sullivan and Cal.

Season four left viewers with significant developments in Maggie's storyline. After settling on a new career path and recommitting to her relationship with Cal, Maggie faces upheaval when her ex-husband Liam arrives bearing unexpected news.
