Gabriel Luna Cast in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 as Serial Killer Antagonist

Gabriel Luna is heading to Paramount+ as the latest addition to the Dexter: Resurrection cast.

The 43-year-old actor has been tapped for season two of the series, with the announcement coming Wednesday, July 15. Luna will take on the role of Ray Ballard, a serial killer operating under the moniker The Sleepy-Eyed Stranger. His character will become a formidable adversary for series star Michael C. Hall, who returns as the titular Dexter.

The revival series builds on the narrative established in Dexter: New Blood, picking up after Dexter Morgan regains consciousness following a gunshot wound inflicted by his son Harrison. The character then journeys to New York City in pursuit of his son, only to find his past emerging to confront him once again.

The original Dexter ran for eight seasons on Showtime, beginning October 1, 2006, and concluding September 22, 2013.

Luna joins other recently announced cast members for the upcoming season. In April, Succession's Brian Cox signed on to the show in a series regular capacity. Production on season two commenced earlier this year, following the show's renewal announcement in October 2025.
