Robert Pattinson is opening up about his latest character in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, and he's bringing up an unexpected comparison from his past.

The 40-year-old actor takes on the role of Antinous, one of Penelope's suitors seeking both her hand in marriage and control of Odysseus' kingdom in Ithaca. During remarks at the film's London world premiere this week, Pattinson drew a connection between his character and Jacob Black from The Twilight Saga.

"I think they will be rooting for him," Pattinson told MTV UK. "I keep comparing it—it's kind of like Jacob in Twilight."

He expanded on the comparison with some humor, explaining the character's predicament. "What The Odyssey is about — Penelope just can't make her mind up between the two guys and I'm just trying to like help her make a decision. It's like, 'It's fine. He's dead, get over it,'" the actor said.

Anne Hathaway plays Penelope opposite Pattinson's Antinous in the epic film.

The Odyssey arrives in theaters on July 17th. The project marks Pattinson's second collaboration with Zendaya this year, following The Drama, which will arrive on a streaming platform shortly. The pair will reunite once more for Dune: Part Three, set to release on December 18th.
