Off Campus Creator Pushes Back on Cast Pay Gap Claims

Louisa Levy, creator and co-showrunner of the streaming series Off Campus, is responding to allegations about gender-based salary differences among the show's season one cast.

The In the Vault podcast recently circulated figures claiming disparities in what cast members earned during the first season. According to the podcast's report, male leads commanded higher per-episode rates: Belmont Cameli topped the list at $30,000 per episode ($260,000 for the season), followed by Josh Heuston at $25,000 per episode ($200,000 total). Stephen Kalyn and Antonio Cipriano were reported to have each earned $15,000 per episode for a season total of $120,000. Jalen Thomas Brooks was not included in the podcast's breakdown.

The female cast members, meanwhile, were said to have earned less. Both Ella Bright and Mika Abdalla, who anchored the romantic storyline and will lead season two respectively, were reported to have made $20,000 per episode, totaling $160,000 for the season.

Levy commented directly on the podcast's Instagram post to contest the figures. "Check your sources. These numbers are far from correct. While this is absolutely an issue in the industry, as a female showrunner I fight for gender pay parity in my cast," she wrote.

The show is currently filming its second season, which will adapt author Elle Kennedy's novel "The Score" and center on the romance between Allie Hayes (played by Abdalla) and Dean Di Laurentis (portrayed by Kalyn).
