Kim Kardashian's Former Bodyguard Mason Haynes Dies in Traffic Accident

Mason Haynes, a veteran close protection officer who worked extensively with the Kardashian-Jenner family, has died following a traffic accident. He was 52.

The tragedy occurred on July 4th, according to a GoFundMe campaign established for his family. The fundraiser notes that Haynes' death came two days ahead of what would have been his 53rd birthday.

"Mason's life was taken far too soon in a tragic road traffic accident," the campaign states. "He leaves behind his devoted wife Fay, his daughter Brooke, his son Noah, a loving family, and an extraordinary circle of friends spread across the world."

The fundraiser describes Haynes as "one of those rare, exceptional people" who had a gift for making others feel welcome. It characterizes him as someone willing to travel across continents to support a friend, and as a person "who never let a loved one down and who saw the deep qualities in people that others often overlooked." The description also highlights his roles as "a protector. A mentor. A prankster. A giant in every sense of the word, with an even bigger heart."

Those organizing the campaign explain that donations will support Haynes' family and provide resources for funeral arrangements. "Your support will give Fay and their family the time and space to grieve, heal and begin rebuilding their lives, without Fay having to make impossible decisions that she could never have imagined she would have to face," the fundraiser reads.

Trojan Security UK, Haynes' employer, paid tribute on Instagram, writing: "We would like to pay homage to an absolute legend in the Close Protection game. Big Mason. Gone too soon. Rest easy and fly high Brother."

Over his career, Haynes provided security for Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, and Kendall Jenner, as well as Kanye West, Lewis Hamilton, Charlie Puth, Kevin Hart, and Nicki Minaj.

Haynes entered the security field while pursuing his education in his 20s. He initially sought part-time work before landing a full-time position with Scorpion Security, which provided protection services for venues including Café De Paris in London and counted numerous celebrity clients among its patrons.

"Because there were a number of celebrity patrons, I started doing what you might call 'close protection', which became permanent contracts with several celebrities," he explained in a 2018 interview.

Haynes was part of Kim Kardashian's security team during the 2016 Paris robbery. When asked about the incident years later, he remained measured in his response: "I can't go into much detail about that, I was part of that team, and that incident was simply a set of unfortunate circumstances which led to something bad happening."
