Josh Duggar Transferred to Fifth Federal Prison Facility

Josh Duggar, the former star of 19 Kids and Counting, has been relocated to another federal correctional facility as part of his ongoing sentence. The 38-year-old is now incarcerated at FCI Elkton in Lisbon, Ohio, per court documents reviewed by Us Weekly.

According to a Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesperson who spoke with KNWA TV, Duggar was transferred from the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City to the Ohio institution on Wednesday, July 8. The facility is classified as a low-security federal correctional institution with an adjacent low-security satellite facility.

This represents the fifth relocation for Duggar since his April 2021 arrest. His incarceration journey began at the Washington County Detention Center in Arkansas before he was primarily housed at FCI Seagoville in Texas. Subsequent moves took him to the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth and then temporarily to Oklahoma City. The Bureau of Prisons has not disclosed reasons for the various transfers.

Duggar was convicted in December 2021 on charges of receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material. He received a 151-month federal prison sentence in May 2022.

The former reality television personality has continued contesting his conviction. In August 2023, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit upheld the guilty verdict. The Supreme Court opted not to review his case in June 2024.

Duggar has consistently proclaimed his innocence and has previously contended that improper procedures were followed regarding forensic evidence handling during his trial.
