J.K. Simmons and Tom Holland Have Never Actually Met, Despite Sharing Two Spider-Man Films

In a surprising revelation, J.K. Simmons disclosed that he and Tom Holland have never actually met, despite both appearing in two Spider-Man films together.

The Oscar-winning actor made the disclosure during a recent visit to the Happy Sad Confused podcast. "I have not met Tom Holland," Simmons shared, though he was quick to add that the actor comes highly recommended. "Delightful guy, I'm told."

Simmons is widely recognized among Marvel enthusiasts for his portrayal of Daily Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson in Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man trilogy, where his character frequently criticized Spider-Man while employing Peter Parker as a photographer to capture images of the wall-crawler.

The actor made an unexpected comeback in the mid-credits sequence of 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home, marking his first appearance in the MCU's Tom Holland era. Simmons reprised the role once more in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, yet the two performers apparently never found themselves on set at the same time.

Looking ahead, Holland will return as the web-slinging hero in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, scheduled for theatrical release on July 31, 2026. The film's advance ticket sales have already begun.

The upcoming installment is already drawing substantial attention, with its trailer achieving 1 billion views within four days—a new record for movie trailer viewership.
