Dwayne Johnson Celebrates Live-Action 'Moana' with Family at Hollywood Premiere

Dwayne Johnson turned the Los Angeles premiere of live-action Moana into a full family celebration on Tuesday evening.

The 54-year-old actor and executive producer walked the blue carpet at the Hollywood Bowl on July 7, accompanied by his wife Lauren Hashian and their two daughters, Jasmine, 10, and Tiana, 8. Also joining him were his mother Ata, his ex-wife and producing partner Dany Garcia along with her husband Dave Rienzi, and his daughter Simone Johnson with her girlfriend Tatyanna Dumas.

The ensemble cast members in attendance included John Tui in the role of Chief Tui, Frankie Adams as Sina (Moana's mother), Catherine Laga'aia as Moana, and Rena Owen portraying Gramma Tala. Emma Puahi-Shapazian and Amaya Masoli also appeared as younger versions of Moana. Director Thomas Kail and producer-songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda were present for the event.

Original Moana voice star Auli'i Cravalho, who also serves as executive producer on the live-action adaptation, made an appearance on the carpet and posed for photos with Laga'aia.

The film follows Moana as she answers the call of the Ocean and ventures beyond her island of Motunui alongside the demigod Maui, embarking on a journey to restore prosperity to her people. The live-action reimagining arrives in theaters on July 10.

Johnson, Laga'aia, Cravalho, and Kail recently promoted the film during an appearance in London. Additionally, Johnson has confirmed that a third animated Moana film is currently in development.
