Charles Barkley Explains His Decision to Skip Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Wedding

Charles Barkley received an invitation to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding but chose not to attend the high-profile celebration.

During an appearance on Unfiltered With Ricky Bo & Bill Colarulo on Tuesday, July 7, the 63-year-old basketball icon opened up about turning down the invitation. "I don't go to weddings and funerals," he explained. "I did get an invite, and I politely declined. Because I thought it was gonna be a crap show."

While Barkley expressed admiration for both Travis and his brother Jason Kelce, and mentioned meeting Taylor once, he made clear that massive formal events simply aren't his style. "That's just too much," he said. "I just wanna hang out and play golf, and I don't wanna dress up and all that other stuff. But I appreciate the invitation; it was pretty special."

The wedding, held on Friday, July 3, drew hundreds of celebrity guests to Madison Square Garden. However, Barkley wasn't alone in his decision to pass on the event. Other notable figures including Ryan Seacrest and Robert Pattinson also declined their invitations, while numerous celebrities didn't receive invites to the star-studded affair.
