Cate Blanchett turned heads at the Giorgio Armani Prive show in Paris, arriving alongside her 18-year-old son Ignatius Upton for a notably uncommon joint appearance.

The 57-year-old Australian actress and her youngest child attended the Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2026-2027 runway presentation during Paris Fashion Week. The outing represents Ignatius's first public appearance in close to ten years—his previous red-carpet moment came in 2018 when he accompanied his mother to the Green Carpet Fashion Awards Italia, with an earlier sighting at the Ocean's 8 premiere in London.

Ignatius is the youngest of Cate and her husband Andrew Upton's biological children, joining older brothers Dashiel, 24, and Roman, 22, as well as their adopted daughter Edith, 11.

The name Ignatius carries a peculiar origin story that Cate revealed during a 2020 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. She explained that while eight months pregnant, she was reading a children's book and came across the name as an example in a section about naming conventions. "It was like the Virgin Mary going 'Boom!'" she recalled of the moment the name struck her.

The Giorgio Armani Prive presentation showcased the latest collection from Silvana Armani, who serves as creative director of womenswear. The collection, described by the brand as exploring "the intimate ritual of dressing" through "precision, softness and nuanced contrasts," marks Silvana's second outing in the role following the death of her uncle Giorgio Armani in September of the previous year.

The front row drew other notable attendees, including Laura Harrier, Rosamund Pike with partner Robie Uniacke, and model Cindy Bruna.
