Quinta Brunson Set to Star in Betty Boop Origin Story She's Producing

Abbott Elementary star Quinta Brunson is taking on an ambitious new project—she'll star in and develop a Betty Boop film that dives into the legendary character's origins.

The 36-year-old multi-hyphenate will portray the iconic animated character while shepherding the movie through development. According to reports, the film will chronicle Betty Boop's creation and trajectory, centering on animator Max Fleischer's role in bringing her to life.

The narrative will examine the complex dynamic between artist and creation, exploring how Fleischer managed the creative and commercial demands of establishing one of animation's first major icons—particularly as Betty Boop evolved into something beyond his original vision.

Brunson shared her enthusiasm for the project in a statement: "Betty Boop is one of our nation's most beloved cartoon characters, yet somehow still remains pleasantly niche.
