'Pillion' Unrated Cut Arrives on HBO Max June 6

The theatrical cut of Pillion is finally heading to streaming in its original form. HBO Max announced that the film will launch on the platform Saturday, June 6 at 8pm ET, offering viewers both the unrated version that played in cinemas and the edited R-rated cut.

The movie initially arrived on digital platforms in late March 2026, though that release featured an edited version that removed Alexander Skarsgård's full frontal nudity. Now, streamers will have the choice between that censored take and the complete theatrical version.

According to reports, only two main cuts of the film exist: the non-rated version screened at festivals and in theaters, and the R-rated version currently available on digital. To achieve the R rating, the MPAA requested several modifications, described as "light edits" to both visuals and audio. These changes affected the alley oral sex scene, wrestling sequence, and biker picnic scene.

The theatrical release included extended shots of Ray's prosthetic manhood and depictions of sexual content between characters, elements that were significantly reduced for the at-home version. The ratings board also requested that fake semen on one character's face receive "de-shining" for the edited cut.

Pillion remains available for rental and purchase across multiple digital platforms including Apple TV, Prime Video, and Google Play.
