Natasha Lyonne Brings Boyfriend Matthew Avedon to Cannes in Sheer Statement Look

Natasha Lyonne commanded attention at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival on Monday night, May 18, when she arrived at the prestigious event with boyfriend Matthew Avedon in tow.
The 47-year-old actress opted for a daring, sheer outfit that showcased her bold fashion sensibilities. She layered the transparent piece beneath a flowing white coat worn mostly unbuttoned, completing the look with designer accessories including a Valentino bag and Dolce & Gabbana slides. Dark sunglasses and a black baseball cap rounded out her ensemble.
Beyond the red-carpet moment, Lyonne's career is heating up with an exciting new project. She has been cast in the upcoming dark-comedy thriller Darlene, joining forces with Jamie King and director Mary Lambert, known for her 1989 adaptation of Stephen King's Pet Sematary.
In the film, Lyonne takes on the role of Annie opposite King's title character, Darlene—a trailer-park influencer whose obsessive quest for viral stardom descends into a chaotic spiral of murder, abduction, and a bloody rampage across the American South. The project has been characterized as a "high-octane, pitch-black Southern Gothic fever dream" that blends the sensibilities of films like Raising Arizona with Nightcrawler while satirizing generational poverty, terminal narcissism, and society's modern obsession with digital fame.
Filming is slated to commence this summer in Louisiana.
