Kathy Griffin is ready to share her new romance with the world. The 65-year-old comedian went public with her boyfriend on Instagram Sunday, May 17, declaring the relationship "insta official" and inviting everyone to accept the news.

"We're insta official. Deal with it. (to any straight guy that is secretly hot for me, but is afraid of what his 'bro' friends would say)," Griffin wrote alongside a photo of the couple.

When followers began speculating about her new partner's identity, Griffin was quick to set the record straight. Asked whether he worked in entertainment or held any celebrity status, she responded with a definitive answer: "No. Not famous. Not in the entertainment industry at all."

The announcement sparked immediate discussion among fans, with some even suggesting the boyfriend bore a resemblance to cyclist Lance Armstrong. Griffin found the comparison amusing but shut it down swiftly. "Ok, i'm dying at these responses. And Lance Armstrong only wishes! I'll never forgive him for whatever the hell it is he did to my beloved Sheryl Crow. My dude is not a public person in any way," she wrote.

When one fan questioned whether the whole thing might be a joke, Griffin confirmed the sincerity of her relationship. "Not a psych out, but fair question ?," she replied.

This marks a significant moment for Griffin following the end of her marriage to marketing executive Randy Bick. The pair began dating in 2012 and married on January 1, 2020, after a brief breakup and reconciliation. Griffin filed for divorce in December 2023, with the separation finalized in January 2025.

In the aftermath of the split, Griffin opened up about the emotional toll the divorce took on her. Speaking to People, she compared the experience to her 2021 battle with stage 1 lung cancer, during which she had half of her left lung removed. The surgery resulted in permanent paralysis of her vocal cord, requiring additional surgery to restore her voice.

"My divorce took me out," Griffin told the publication. "I'm not going to lie. Some people are like, 'I was glad I got rid of them, and I've never felt better.' I was down for the count. It was harder than cancer."
