Supporters of Hayden Panettiere are dealing with a letdown after their signed book orders got the ax.

Barnes & Noble notified customers via email that autographed editions of Panettiere's memoir, "This Is Me: A Reckoning," cannot be fulfilled. The retailer cited a message from Hachette Book Group, the book's publisher, explaining that production complications have made it impossible to deliver the signed version.

The unsigned copies, meanwhile, remain in circulation—though multiple shoppers have indicated those too are now unavailable. One X user expressed frustration over the refund and sold-out status, while another took to Threads to lament ordering the signed edition five months prior. Several other fans confirmed receiving identical cancellation notices from the bookstore.

The memoir hit shelves on Tuesday, May 19, and has already sparked considerable buzz for its candid revelations. Panettiere delves into personal territory throughout the pages, including an allegation directed at an Academy Award-winning filmmaker and fresh perspective on her romantic history with actor Milo Ventimiglia. She also reflects on her tenure with the acclaimed musical drama Nashville, describing her working relationship with co-star Connie Britton as "deeply uncomfortable."

Readers can still purchase both physical and digital versions of the book through Amazon.
