Francesca Scorsese Tapped for Season 2 of Prime Video's 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith'

Francesca Scorsese is heading to Prime Video. The 26-year-old actress and daughter of filmmaker Martin Scorsese has landed a role in the upcoming second season of the spy drama Mr. & Mrs. Smith, according to reports from Tuesday, May 19.
Scorsese will appear in the new season alongside Mark Eydelshteyn and Talia Ryder, who are set to lead the installment. While specifics about her character and storyline remain under wraps, it's understood that she will portray a member of another Mr. and Mrs. Smith duo.
Donald Glover, who created the series, serves as an executive producer, and starred in season 1, will direct several episodes of season 2. Glover and Maya Erskine, his co-lead from the first season, are expected to return to reprise their respective roles as John Smith and Jane Smith.
Yellowjackets star Sophie Thatcher had previously been in negotiations to join season 2 but ultimately exited the project.
Prior to this casting, Scorsese has built a television and film resume that includes appearances in the 2020 series We Are Who We Are and the films Christmas Eve in Miller's Point and Roommates, released in 2024 and 2026 respectively. She has also gained attention for creating viral TikTok content featuring her renowned father.
The show is being developed as an anthology series, shifting away from the continuity of season 1's leads. Unlike the 2005 film of the same name, which starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as a married couple, the Prime Video adaptation centers on two strangers working together as espionage partners.
Production on season 2 began in April.
