Cynthia Erivo has joined the ranks of honored recipients of the Order of the British Empire. The acclaimed actress and performer, 39, was formally invested as a Member of the OBE during Tuesday's ceremony at Windsor Castle in Windsor, England, with Prince William presenting her with the distinction.

The recognition celebrates Erivo's work in the arts, particularly her achievements in music and drama. When the honor was first announced late last year, the Wicked star reflected on the milestone. "To be given this recognition to celebrate the work that I love to do within the arts, specifically music and drama, is an honour I could never have thought would happen. I hope it shows that I care deeply about the work and will continue to do so to the best of my abilities," she said.

For the significant occasion, Erivo selected a Givenchy design created by Sarah Burton, which she highlighted in a social media tribute. "An official MBE. This is a day I will never forget. Thank you so much Sarah Burton @givenchy and @stephenjonesmillinery for your collaboration, and for making me feel so special," she posted on Instagram.

The honor marks another notable moment in Erivo's career trajectory. The performer has recently announced plans for a major concert performance in Los Angeles scheduled for later this year.
