Camille Grammer Opens Up About Hurtful Message From Kelsey Grammer After Their Divorce

Camille Grammer has shared intimate details about her split from Kelsey Grammer, including a difficult text exchange that occurred after their separation.
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, now 57, discussed the dissolution of her marriage during an appearance on the "Humble Brag" podcast hosted by Cynthia Bailey and Crystal Kung Minkoff. She and the 71-year-old actor were together for 13 years, marrying in 1997 before separating in 2010. Their divorce was finalized the following year.
When the conversation turned to whether Kelsey had expressed any regret about how things ended, Camille revealed the contents of a message he sent her. "He sent me a text saying 'I feel no remorse for what I am doing,'" she recalled, describing the communication as particularly hurtful.
Camille explained how much his words stung given the depth of their relationship. "That was very harsh because I was very much in love with him. And I believed he was very much in love with me. I mean, we did have many good years in our marriage, and a lot of fun times," she said.
Beyond their personal bond, Camille emphasized her active role in supporting his professional endeavors. The couple shared two children together, and she noted her significant involvement in his career trajectory. "I wasn't on Frasier, but I was very involved with him. He was a very hard person to get in touch with, so if the agents were looking for him, the lawyers were looking for him or studio heads, they would get me on the phone, I would talk to them," she explained.
The public nature of their breakup compounded the emotional toll. Camille discussed how the timing of the divorce—which played out on reality television—left her vulnerable to criticism from multiple directions simultaneously. "I was broken. I broke. I'm going to be honest. I broke, and I think I broke when the show was airing because I was getting it from all sides," she reflected.
She characterized the situation as overwhelming, with pressure coming not just from viewers and the show itself, but from what she described as a coordinated effort to manage his public image. "I don't feel like I was getting a break 'cause the shows, the fans, the audience…it was bigger than that, it's Kelsey's people, his machine behind him," she said.
Camille recalled reaching out to him directly about the situation, asking him to call off his supporters. "I remember calling [Kelsey] and saying, 'Get your bulldogs off of me, because I don't want to keep reading this horrible stuff that you're putting out there with your posse to protect your image.'"
Kelsey went on to marry flight attendant Kayte Walsh, with whom he had begun a relationship before his separation from Camille.
